Hi Aditya,
HCM Processes and forms offers an efficient way to manage cross-role processes involving HR Master data. (e.g. transfer, job change, salary increment, etc) that comes with SAP E.C.C 6.0 Ehp4.
It is made up of three important components:
a) Adobe Interactive Form
b) Form Scenario
c) Workflow
The transaction code for this is HRASR_DT . You can also find standard processes provided by SAP.
Configuration of Design Time can be accessed in the IMG under Personnel Management > HR Administrative Services > Configuration of Forms/Process.

There are no prerequisites to understand HCM but you could have a look at how HCM works in general with relationships and infotype concepts. Please search the forums for that you can get loads of info.
For workflow scenarios there are standard workflows available (for starters just to get a feel) that can be accessed via the above t.code(in proceses section). However, this differs greatly according to customer requirements.
Hope this info helps.
