The term deletion falg in general is a broad term and used in the different functions.
1) For material masters - If u want to remove any material from the masters u can to set the deletion flag to that material by MM06.Once it is set same material cant be used further.
2) Deletion flag at PR or PO - To delete any line item in PR or PO.
3) Deletioin flag for Production order - This is used to delete the Production order.
So deletion flag concept is used in different area of application and basic purpose is to cancel or delete the item level or header level activity.
