Brtools logs Location

Dear Experts,

Our backups/Restores are currently being handled by Brtools. However, I'm not sure how does it get a value to where to drop a logs files, .fnd, and .ind files etc..

Current online directory: /oracle/sid/sapbackup/full_online

Current incre directory: /oracle/sid/sapbackup/incremental

Backups are working fine. However, logs are only written in /oracle/sid/sapbackup for incrementals and full online. It makes our recovery very tough since it overwrites the files every time Brtools runs again.

Is there anyway to define in the profile or any where to change the location of a log files?

Thanks,

Hi

the protocol-files are written to

Environment location SAPBACKUP for brbackup

Environment location SAPARCHIVE for brarchive

If these are not set, they default to environment location

SAPDATA_HOME/sapbackup

SAPDATA_HOME/saparch

Since the name of the files is a coded timestamp, subsequent runs

will NEVER create the same logfile, so the logfile will never get an OVERWRITE.

If you observe this behavior, someone else is doing the deletes (cron, ...)
