Domain is partially active

Hi Experts,

I am facing problem while activating a standard domain which we changed. It is showing error while activating the domain as one of the dependant table is inconsistent. I tried activating that table in all the ways, but the table is not getting activated. when I checked the activation log, both are partly active. Please help me out.

Hi,

Its a 'RESERVED NAME' table, TRESE which belongs to CRM. and the domain is TEXT80.

It is not a good practice to change a standard domain..Please create a custom domian and use appropriately..Please change back to original and then try to activate both domain and table

We tried that way also, we are unable to activate it when we changed it to original. The table which I specified and the domain which I changed to original are partly active. Please help.

Try to do database utility. se14.. click on adjust and activate the table.. and see.

whenever a domain which is used in database tables is changed then the table has to be adjusted and activated. For this go to the transaction se14 and do adjust and activate for the table. I think it should work. Thank you.

I have tried the database utility and the result was like "Activation type =1 is not possible available" and I tried through SE54 and I could not activate through that also. I tried to adjust through report TOUCHTAB. But failed.:(

go to version management and try to go back to the original unchanged version of all table and domains affected. Then DB utility as suggested.

Please You examine below case;

1. Trese table "Where Used List" for programs,screen,func. module,structures,views etc.

2. Especial Trese-SOURCEHINT field "Where Used List" for programs,screen,func. module,structures,views etc.

I looked roughly for above 2 steps. These are using different type of object.

Hi Melih,

I have changed the domain TEXT80 size which should not be done.As this is having dependency with lot of tables, the dependent table TRESE has been changed internally and when I am trying to reset the size of domain It is failing. and after all the table is also partly active.

I checked Text80 domain "where used list", 207 data elements use it at 4.6 . Maybe more 1000 tables use related 207 data elements.

I think you must should undo change. Because SAP dont advice change orijinal objects. This change will come across first upgrade.

You make undo change please below way.

And then you should find solution other way for your issue.

se11->write domain->change->edit->modifications operation->undo modification

If its a standard table , then how did you change? And if you changed why cant you change now. DO you have teh access key.

Also, If you changed the domain, it needs to be reflected to all tables that use it. And the tables might have to be adjusted in SE14.

First revert the changes of the domain which you have made and save.

At the time if activation, try to activate both domain and dependent table together.

Hi,

If you have access ket to change domain, data element and table all three then do as below,

1) Go to domain -> definition tab ->give data type CHAR

- No. Of characters as 80

- Decomal places 0

- Output length 80

- Lovercase checked

2) Now try to activate table TRESE, Data Element TRESESRC and domain TEXT80 together.

Goto the table TRESE , double click on data element TRESESRC ,

now goto Utilities>Versions>Version management ..

Check(Tick) the previous version , click on Retrieve (Ctrl+F5) , save and activate.

you will have adjust all the tables first, although this is the lengthy process but same needs to be done, follow below process.

1) Do the table adjustment for TRESE and activate it.

2) now go to domain and try to activate, this time it will through error for some other table, take that table name and again adjust the same

3) after doing adjustment for that table again go to domain and try to activate again will give error for some other table, take that table and adjust that table again.

Follow above steps untill you stop getting the error and all tables are getting adjusted, once all tables will be adjusted your error from the domain will be removed and your domain will be activated.

Try the same as it works for me, I have tried at my end.

If you are working in dev then you can create BDC program to agjust this tables and once all gets adjusted you can activate the Domain.

Try the same as it works for me, I have tried at my end.

To activate the standard domain TEXT80 I am getting problem only in table TRESE. All other tables are adjusted. When I activate it and try to activate the domain the error occurs saying 'THE TABLE TRESE IS INCONSISTENT WHILE ACTIVATING'. Please help.!!

Hi All,

The issue is solve now. The procedure goes something like this.

1. First go to TRESE table. extras->activation type-> change it to 00.

2. Go to SE14 and adjust the table. Now the table adjusts itself.

3. Go to data element TEXT80, try activating it. It will activate.

4. Go to table again and change the activation type to 01 and activate it again.

Now both the things are actived and issue is resolved.

HEY...YOU NEED TO ACTIVATE AND ADJUST DATABASE USING SE14.THEN YOUR DOMAIN WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME ACTIVE.

Hi. The issue is with the activity type here. Once the activity type is changed to 00, we can do the activation of the table.
