BPC 10 EPM Add In for Microsoft Office Installation Issue

Hi

I am trying to install the EPM 10 Add in for MS Office 2007. When the EPM 10 Add In Install wizard starts I get a messsage saying the EPM install requires Service Pack 2 for Microsft Office 2007. I have checked my version of MS Office 2007 and Service Pack 2 is installed. I have tried re installing MS Office Service Pack 2 but it makes no difference still get the error.

Does anyone know a way around this issue ?

Hi Justin,

we had the same issue but found a workaround: we are running on Win7 with MS Office 2007 SP2.

Just add (temporary) the missing key to the registry and install the EPMAddIn 10.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}]

"SPLevel"="SP2"

We also opened a message to the OSS asking for a new .exe version.

Hope they will release it shortly

Hi Justin,

I imagine you have already gotten around your issue. Just in case someone else experiences this I wanted to document exactly what the issue is here.

I had to work on BPC 7.5 from my Windows Image so I uninstalled my EPM Add-In and reinstalled the BPC 7.5 client. Once finished I went through the process of trying to get the EPM Add-In installed again unfortunately I started encountering the same error as before. The system was telling me I needed Office SP2 but I already have it installed?

I downloaded Process Monitor from Microsoft Technet and monitored the registry keys that were being queried by the installation package. The issue was that because I have had multiple versions of MS Office on my laptop there were multiple registration entries in my Windows Registry. The installer package was looking at an older entry. Below is the key the MSI package was looking for and it couldn't find it.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}\SPLevel

I in fact had four entries under the Registration node in my registry. After looking through the other three entries I realized that the last entry had the SPLevel String Value as SP2. I created a string value under the first entry and gave it exactly the same value SP2 and the installation package no longer gave me the error referenced in this thread.

Hopefully this helps someone else out in the future that has the same issue.

Cheers, Scott

Hi Justin,

I had exactly the same issue and it turned out that one of the recent security patches I had downloaded to update my Office 2007 installation was causing the issue. I was able to install after going to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel of my PC, clicking the Show Updates button in the top of the dialog box and removing the recently added security updates. After that the EPM Add-in installed successfully.

I know this post is a bit old but I am curious as well as to if and how you fixed this issue?

Cheers, Scott

Hi Scott,

I am also facing same problem and would like to know which update you uninstalled to get rid of this problem. Thanks in advance for your help.
