Hi SAP Experts,

I'm planning to perform offline backup with using brdb6brt u2013s SAMPLE u2013bm BOTH u2013bpt /backup/db2Offline in the part of redirect restore process( from prd to test). but i have a doubt, our prd db size is 400gb, if i take offline backup with using above command how much it will occupy in the file system level? if it's occupy more space, is there any command to compress db size while performing backup?because we dont have enough space in prd file system. usually we will use TSM tool to perform backups. my env is db2 v 9.1/AIX.

Could you advise me soon please and can you provide me stpes for backup restore process.

thanks

Hi,

You can take offline backup from below command as well:

db2 backup db <SID> to <path- tape address/file system path) compress

If you will give compress command then it will compress otherwise it will take in uncompressed format. For 400 GB of size, it will take approx. 80-90 GB.

Thanks
