Gauges/Dials in BO 4.0 Web Intelligence Reports

Hi All,

We are currently working on BO 4.0 and want to add Gauge in web intelligence report. As we know that, Gauge is not existing in the list of components provided by BO webI so we need to do some work around or even for the single value display which other component we can use in WebI.

Can anyone suggest how we can achieve the same?

Regards,

Tina Ailani

Hi Tina,

I am working on the similar project where I need to show Gauge (multiple lines on one gaguge) in WebI. I can do in Xcelsius. Do you succedded in doing it in WebI, if yes, please share the process.

Thanks.

I have described the process of how to do this in WebI XI 3.1 here:

Hi All,

In regard to the above problem statement, I would like to put it in this way.

What is the best way to create dials / gauges in WebI 4.0? Is the former Xcelcius product the only way?

Can anyone please suggest on the same?

Thanks & Regards,

Depending on the granularity you want, you could have static images of gauges (perhaps screenshot from Xcelsius), layered on top of each other, and use alerters to show only the gauge with the needle in the correct position.

Very low-tech, I know.

Personally, I'd do something like this:

Open Microsoft PowerPoint, use the drawing tools to create a thing that looks like a dial (with a needle).

Copy and paste it 8 times.

Move the needle on each so that's it in a different position.

Right click the shapes and click "Save as Image".

In Webi, add a blank cell where you want the picture to be.

Click the alerters icon in the toolbar.

Add some rule, for your measure (whatever should drive the needle of the chart).

Click the format button, and on this page, select an image for that sub-alerter.

I think 8 is the limit. You can always apply to alerters (each with 8 sub-alerters) to the same cell.
