Issue in PO Release Strategy

Former Member

Hi Friends,

I need your expertise help for the below scenario.

PO has been created, Release strategy has been fully approved, goods receipts was done for full quantity and IR was also done for full GR quantity.

After this the PO line items have been deleted and saved. This has caused the Release Strategy approval TO GET CANCELLED i.e. system expects that PO needs to be approved again.

I do not understand, when PO deletion indicator has been set after GR and IR , why system should cancel the Release and expect again to be released. Ideally , there should not be any change in Release strategy.

Could someone help whether this is a standard behavior of SAP or is there any setting which causes this issue?

Dear Dev,

Please check your release strategy criteria which is defined in PO. When you deleted the line item than value is going to changed. I think b'coz to this release strategy get to reset.

Hi,

Check the changeability values assigned to your final release indicator. If it '4' or '6' system redetermines the release strategy if any changes is made.

Hi Iyer,

Thanks for your reply. I did check the changeability value. It is "6".

We have two different R/3 production system. the setting for both R/3 system is "6" for changeability value.

But for the same scenario for one system the release strategy will not be cancelled if we put PO deletion in PO.

But in another system , the release strategy will be reset. I feel the release strategy should not get reset as the PO itself is deleted .

can you through some idea why it is behaving like this?

Hi

In your two different system the release changeability indicator is samebut you are getting different results, may be you check the release creterialbecause the release strategy will reset once you do change in either of the values(if you give as net value as release creteria)

If you give release creteria different for the 2 system then you will get different results.so kindly check your release charactereistcs for PREQ.

Thanks

Hi Nijamudeen,

Thanks for your reply. I checked on both the system . The criteria used was purchase group, purchase org and net value(GNETW) which is same in both the system. But wondering how it behaves differently.

Generally in this case, what should be standard SAP behavior?

Will system reset the Release strategy or there will not be any change in Release if we set the PO deletion indicator (changeability index is u201C6u201D)
