Crystal Reports 6 Life Cycle

I have just inherited a 3rd party application that uses Crystal Reports 6. Has this version of Crystal reached it's end of life or is it still supported?

Yes CR 6 has reached it's end of life. About 10 years ago...

Only CR 2008 and later are supported at this time. In addition, all CR versions that bundled with VS .NET will be supported as long as MS supports that version of .NET.

Ludek,

I am in a similar situation to Tanya. I have an application that uses CR 6.

Can you provide guidance on an upgrade path? I know it will leave a trail of tears.

Thanks.

Hi Charles

This may be a trail of tears, but it's hard to know if it will be tears of pain or joy LOL

Depends on how the reports were created, what database they connect to and how they connect to the database. Certainly the 1st thing to do will be to download CR 2013 trial version from here:

SME Free Trials | SME Software | SAP

Next, try to run one of the reports in the CR 2013 designer and keep your fingers crossed. See how that goes and let us know any issues. E.g.; errors, symptoms, behavior. Also, let us know the database you are connecting to and how you are connecting to it (ODBC, OLE DB, etc.).  Please do this in a new Discussion though.
