Even after running F:\usr\sap\DEV\DVEBMGS01\SDM\program>sdm.bat jstartup "mode=integrated" "sdmhome

=F:\usr\sap\DEV\DVEMGS01\SDM\program" we still get the following error.

RROR 2004-11-22 14:32:31

MUT-02041 SDM call of jstartup mode=standalone ends with returncode 4

Thanks.

After installing another system I think the problem is caused by not having a localhost entry in you hosts file. The stopserver script tries to stop the server at localhost:50018

As the installation will not start without a reference from your host name to 127.0.0.1 you probably did just as me replace localhost with the hostname.

Instead you should add it:

127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 <hostname>

As I only found out after installing the other system, I am not sure but at least 99% convinced this is the problem.

Anyone who still has this problem:

Run sapinst till error occurs.

Open SAPMMC Console.

Open node <hostname> 0.

Select Process table.

Select SDM and disable process.

Go back to sapinst and press retry.

Now the installation will continue succesfully, at least during my installation

Hi there,

Iam installing EP on Linux and getting error message

"MUT-02041 SDM call of jstartup mode=standalone ends with returncode 1"

I have noticed that Vincent has provided a clue to solve it but for Windows environment.

How can I apply it to Linux ?

Please respond,

Les.

Have you shutdown the current running SDM?

Could not start SDM - another Server may be running already.

Exiting ....

ERROR: Another SDM is running already for this SDM_HOME directory. Exiting.

Processing error. Return code: 4

You can use jcmon to shut it down before running the

sdm.bat jstartup .... command.

This command will try to start up the SDM and fail if and SDM process is already running.

Do you found a solution?

Maybe it this was the same error at my installation.

I solve it this way:

Go to SDM Directory and enter:

sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"
