Connection error in Data foundation in Information Design Tool

Hi Experts,

I am new to BO IDT Tool, Could you please help us on the below issue.

While inserting the oracle data base connection in data founation, we are getting below error.

[Data Federator Driver] [Server] [Connector 'TEST'] The database has reported an Exception: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

(SQLState: N/A, Vendor code: 12,154)

Hi Gananadha, did you end up solving this problem? I'm currently facing the same issue.

can you please check with your client Tools version and the BO version including patches.

Example: If you have BO 4.1 SP05 Patch 3 you should have the same client tools like SP05 patch3.

Both applications are on the same version including service packs and patches.

Make sure that the directory locations are correct. Sometimes \bin is not required depending on the installations.

Adding $ORACLE_HOME might help sometimes.

Please ensure that you have setup the environment variables especially TNS_ADMIN which should pointed to the directory which got the tnsname.ora file

Hi,

this looks like your Oracle Client isnt correct configured. Can you connect to the DB using "tnsping SID" and SQLPlus?
