- 720-EXT patch level 101

The existing leve on my system is as follows.

Kernel release 720 DB client lib. SQLDBC 7.7.7.022

Compilation SunOS 5.10 Generi DB releases MaxDB 7.9

Sup.Pkg lvl. 100 DBSL version 720.00

ABAP Load 1780 DBSL Patch Level 098

CUA load 39

Mode opt

can anyone provide information on how to upadate it to the required patch level. Do i need to do a upgrade of the kernel.

Hi,

From what you have mentioned your DBSL version is 98 and the required version is 101.You have to update both max db and dbsl.SO you have go with both.

If correction is delivered with kernel 720 patch level 101 then you can simply upgrade your kernel and apply the correction.

If you have to upgrade MaXDB patch level then you can download corresponding patch level from SMP/SDN, then you can apply that patch. For more information, you can check upgrade guide for MaXDB.

Hi sunny,

Is it ok if i just upgrade the MaxDB patch level to above 98 or it is recommended to upgrade the kernel also, which one is recommeded, so that there will not be any issues.

Hi,

If SAP recommends to upgrade only database patch level then you can do that there should not be any issue.

Thanks

Hi Balaji,

You can extract the latest patch for MaxDB database.

Then run SDBUPD executable.

Follow the instructions on the screen. ( It will ask you to select your current database SID and database version )

Once the upgrade is completed you can check the updated version by connecting to database using DBMGUI .

Hope this helps.
