CRM upgrade from 2006s(Product Version 5.2) to CRM7.0 with EHP1

Dear All,

We are planning to upgrade our CRM landscape which is currently running in CRM 2006(OS & DB : Windows 2003 & SQL 2005) to CRM7.0 with EHP1

Is this possible to upgrade our environment directly to the level of CRM7.0 with EHP1 or do I need to perform an interim upgrade of CRM7.0 and then upgrading to CRM7.0 with EHP1.

Please let me your suggestions and feedback on this

Choose SAP Business Suite Applications > SAP CRM -> SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP CRM 7.0 > Upgrade:

1. Master Guide SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP CRM 7.0

2. Media List SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP CRM 7.0

3. Upgrade Guides - SAP CRM 7.0 EHP1

Hi All,

I don think so, I could manage a upgrade directly because

Our current environment : OS windows 2003 , SQL 2005 and CRM Component version as 6.0

Planned Target environment : CRM 7.0 with EHP1

In the master guide and PAM, we understood that , CRM7.0 with EHP1 is not supported on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005 platforms and CRM 7.0 is also not supported on windows 2003. Also CRM6.0 is also not supported on Windows 2008 environment

Hence, I believe we need to follow the interim upgrade (Because not possible to upgrade directly from 6.0 to 7.0 with EHP1,considering windows platforms)

So, in which sequence I need to follow the upgrade?

Anyone have concerns on it Please do let me know

Hi,

Yes, you are right. You need to do interim upgrade. So, you can first upgrade your CRM 5.2 to CRM 2007. Then upgrade your Window 2005 to 2008 version and upgrade MSSQL as well (As CRM 2007 is supported on Window2003 + MSSQL 2005 and Window 2008+MSSQL 2008). Once it is done then you can upgrade to CRM 7.0 with EHP1.
