Hi Ambarish,

Go to transaction SWU3. and expand node Maintain Definition Environment.

Go to Maintain Prefix numbers and execute it.

It will ask you prefix number you want for the workflow.

say the workflow no is WS99900665, so Prefix number is 999 in this case.

So make an entry giving a prefix number, SAP System ID and Client.

Save this in a package and generate Maintain Prefix numbers.

And check the status in SWU3, when you expand node Maintain Definition Environment, previously, the status of Maintain Prefix number was red, now you will get green indicating the successfull execution of the task.

OR

You can directly go to transaction OOW4, it will lead you to same page to maintain prefix number.

Hope this will help you.

Hi,

You can simply activate only that specific node

1. Execute SWU3

2. Choose Maintain Prefix Numbers.

3. Click F8.

4. In the next screen click on Change Icon and then click on Create Icon.

5. Define the Number range and save.

6. Refresh Buffer SWU_OBUF, and Org Environment too from SWUD... or from SWUS. or from SBWP.

Hi,

Yes its client specific, You should not do this activity in the golden client, you might be having a DEV client.... just execute the above mentioned steps.

Ideally not, since this number range defines the custom workflow series in DEV system.

For ex, in case you set the no. range as 999 for your DEV client, then your custom workflow no starts with prefix 999 -> 999XXXXX

Hello,

I think you can just do the prefix number. No harm in trying.

Rick,

There is no option to generate just the one any other option.
