Why are suborders created?
We can create a separate order instead of creating an order.
Hi,
You can create sub orders to subdivide the work, an example you can create a preventive work order and if you find additional work you can create sub order to track the work; these sub orders may be settled to the superior order.

HI
when you plan a capital repair of your equipment/machines- you are required to plan multiple activities in forms of either operations/ or different orders or WBS element/activity. Also you wants to maintain relationships between various operations/ activities. At the same time you need to monitor in a single place that is superior Order. Major advantage is at operations level you cant get planned cost & actual cost. So if you wants to breakdown your jobs in terms of sub order instead of operation, you will get costs at suborder level as well as superior order level.
while creating/changig order you can also create suborder from the menu - order - create special -sub order

Hi
Suborders can be used to subdivide the major work under one superior maintenance order.
so all costs will flow to superior orders.we need to close all suborders, then superiord order can be closed.
IW36 used to create suborder.
