I was facing this issue just today,

you need to copy MS-SQL server Setup files to a directory name not contain space between like below

C:\SQLServer8\ -----this will work just fine

while this will not work

c:\SQL Server 8\   installtion error XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I have deactivated User Access Control in Windows 2008 R2.

MS SQL DB installation specific steps for SAP system is clearly documented in SAP Installation guide. Please download from SMP, read it carefully and install as mentioned in the guide.

Hi,

I hope you are running the SQL4SAP.vbs script for installing MSSQL. If so, check if the User Access Control in Windows 2008 R2 is deactivated.

Check SAP Note 1144459 for troublshooting SQL installation.
