Hi ,
1)Main Diff. which i feel is of budget allocation.
If you delete an item then budget associated with it gets opened whereas for blocked items budget for respective items also gets blocked.
2) We can block a PO in case its respective GR is still open but we cannot Delete a PO in case its respective GR is Open.
3) No Subsequent Documents can be generated against a Deleted item whereas it can be generated against a Blocked item.

Honey

hi
block is a short term solution to prevent any follow-on function like goods receipt and invoice receipt until the block is released.
the block may be set if the price is not yet finally negotiated, but order had to be placed.
a block will prevent the document from beeing closed. you will never be able to archive a document that has a block, as SAP allows only to archive closed business cases.
Deletion indicator is to tell the vendor that you do not want this item anymore (if you had already send the order) and as well to mark the item for a future archiving (e.g. to logically close the business case for this item).

Blocking p.o line item wont' allow you to create subsequent documents(GR,Invoice etc.,) temporarily,Suppose for example
vendor given bill for higher price than price mentioned in p.o,then you can lock p.o line item.
canceling/deleting won't be reversed once p.o is saved,it won't appear open gr,invoices,it won't allow you
to create subsequent documents like GR,Invoice etc.,,If you have already created GR/Invoice partially then you cant delete p.o line item.
