Adapter engine alerts are not working ..

We have been using SAP PI 7.1 version and SP08 and recently i have been configured XI alerts . When i have do IE errors alerts are recieving in Alert inbox as well as to mail but when i try to create error in Adapter engine iam not recieving any alert . I had been gone through most of the links but didnt get any and according to sap Note 913858 :

Q10: I do not receive any alerts, but when I test the alert

category using the report RSALERTTEST, an alert is delivered.

- A10: In transaction ST22, search for dumps caused by the user

XIRWBUSER stating that the authorization is missing for RFC

calls or for the function group SXMSALERT. If this is the case,

you probably have to regenerate the roles and profiles for the

XIRWBUSER.

But same procedure i have been followed but ST22 i couldnt able to see any dump and when try to run the program by giving alert category Adpater engine alerts are reaching inbox as well as to mail. I have tried each and every configuration but some thing is missing here couldnt able to find it.Anybody help me on this.

Thanks,

Aparna.

Hi Aparna,

Alerting does not depends on end to end monitoring.

Hi Aparna,

Please uncheck Supress Multiple Alerts of This Rule then try.

I guess u create two rules .one rule to monitor integration and another to adapter engine.

you can try below options also....

1.Enable Alert logs --->ALRTCATDEF choose Settings - Configuration and make sure you have the logging parameter checked

2.Then trigger an alert and check the logs--->se38 run report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER

3.you can see logs more clearly--->SLG1 choose object "ALERT" and from there you can check if your alert was generated or not

Thanks

Kumar

Hi Aparna,

If you are having messages with errors in Adapter Engine, you may check the following SCN Blog:

"Trigger Alerts for Messages in "To be delivered" status: Monitoring Adapter queue lock"

-> http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/20423

http://<host>:<port>/AdapterFramework/alerting/ping.jsp

Also check my reply in the below thread

Initialize aii.properties

Execute function module RWB_PING on monitoring server

Send test alert via Alert.sendTestAlert(true) with MsgID

Send test alert via Alert.sendTestAlert(false) without MsgID

Get AdapterTypes from SLD

Get URL for Alert Monitor

Set URL for MDT

Get URL for MDT

Clear URL for MDT

Hi,

Ist step is to initialize your exchange profile settings.

Second step is to call the FM RWB_PING

Third step is to trigger the alert with msgid in Java stack as same as RSALERTTEST

Fourth step is is to trigger the alert without msgid in Java stack as same as RSALERTTEST

You can go ahead with execution 1 & 3 or 1 & 4 to trigger the alert.

Have you selected the AE alert while choosing for Alert configuration and then assigning alert category?

Kindly check.

Thanks,
