Hi,
When I'm trying to create Query on top of Universe using Query Browser in Dashboard Design, I'm getting following error:
Request Processing Failed. (XLS 000009)
Request Processing Failed. (XLS 000009) [ ]
<com.businessobjects.dsl.common.exception.Nested Exception:OLE DB Provider CLSID not specified or erroneous>
I'm using SQL Server 2005 datasource with OLE DB driver used to create connection in Information Design tool.
I'm able to run a WebI report using this universe and it runs fine with no errors.
Please let me know how to fix this issue.
My Environment : BO 4.0 SP02 Patch 9
Dashboard Design : SP02 Patch 9.
Thanks
John

Hi John,
This is a quite generic error that we come across and if you are using obbc drivers then follow these steps
1) create 2 dsn's one 32 bit and one 64 bit and both need to be of the same name.
2)test the connection in IDT and you need to have rights over universe as well.
3)use .unx universe in query browser .If webi works then dashboard should work as well.
Thanks and Regards,

1) Problem Description: Unable to use query browser within Xcelsius to Connect to a BI4 relation universe created using IDT on a access DB (efashion or club) - getting XLS 000009 error
2) Solution Steps (should be same for SQL Server as Well):
a. Install SP01 for Xcelsius BI4 SP4
b. Make sure you are running Office 2010 64bit on server and client (NOT lesser version) – since 64 bit Office is available only from Office 2010
c. Make sure you create 2 DSNs – with the same name i.e: efashion (1 – using BI4 enterprise ODBC tool and 2 – using Windows Admin Tools -> ODBC) - this is required since Xcelsius is 32bit and BI4 is 64bit ( remember that is why Webi rich client works and Xclesius query browser does not work )
Hope this helps.

Rama

Hi Nikil,
Thanks for the reply.
The SAP Note you mentioned is related to Data Federation Service and I think I have no problem with that.
As I said I can create WebI report without any issues on the same Universe but not able to create in Dashboard Design Query Browser.
I also changed the driver to ODBC but still the same error.
Regards
John
Hi John,
Try installing SQL native client tool . Refer below thread for details. Not sure about this solution since you are able to create WebI report without issues. Refer mentioned SAP note.

Let me know if it works for you.
