Delta Load after upgrading BW from 3.5 to 7.3

Dear Experts,

I'd like some suggestion on Delta load after upgrading SAP BW from version 3.5 to 7.3.

Question # 1

I found some errors like this:

DataSource 0CRM_COMPLAINTS_I has to be replicated (time stamp, see long text)

Diagnosis

DataSource 0CRM_COMPLAINTS_I does not have the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.

The time stamp in the source system is 14.07.2009 15:13:47.

The time stamp in the BW system is 25.06.2009 15:25:45.

Procedure

Copy the DataSource again and then activate the transfer rules that belong to it. You have to activate the transfer rules in every case, even if they are still active after the DataSource has been copied.

I already replicated metadata and reactivated transformation (since there is no more transfer rule).

Unfortunately, loading data was still failed.

I found one web site recommended to run program = RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.

Could this program be also used with SAP BW 7.3?

Question # 2

According to my configation

Before upgrading

- Loading method in InfoPackage was set to Delta

After upgrading

- Loading method from data source to PSA = Delta

- Loading method from PSA to Data Target = Full

I wondered if the step of loading method from PSA to Data Target should be Delta or Full?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hi Wachira,

Yes, RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL works specifically on Transfer Rules no matter what the current version of BW is.

Kiran is spot on. Whenever you have a data flow like DataSourceu2014>PSAu2014>DataStore the load from the PSA to the DataStore should always be a delta load. This is independent of the load mode from the DataSource to the PSA, which could be a Full or a Delta.

Kind Regards,

John.

Hi,

you can always keep this as Delta load..

so in the first delta run it will bring all the requests up in the DSO for eg.

and it will say that all the records are updated..later on when you will run delta it will just bring the request which is not updated in the data target..

Thanks and regards

Kiran
