O.k.  SAP is the land of many choices...kind of hard to say that this way is the best way over all other ways.  Simple maintenance is exactly that...it is simple....it is only generally useful for performing very low level quick entry....and likely is very limited as it doesn't present all related details.  The next step on the ladder is generally Actions.  One can use actions to setup a complete org structure elements as these are prepared in advance to address all infotypes one might be building for a particular object.  These are generally the real "meat and potatoes" of getting OS work down quickly....and very complete if they have been thoroughly setup to reflect the infotypes that support your OS objects.  One can never wander too far from Expert Tools, as they give the complete maintainable way to correct problems or detect problems through analysis.  Lastly there are always some nice speed tools, like copying a Position using PPOME, but one needs to really learn a lot about Org Mgmt before you use a speed tool, as this kind of tool is dangerous if you as a user have little exposure to all the elements of Org objects....(dates, subtypes, etc. etc.)

    Cheers!
