Solution Manager 4.0: DSWP: Display multiple systems (boxes) in 1 landscape

Hello there,

Previously in Solution Manager 3.0, it is possible to have multiple 3-systems in a Solution Landscapes - Operations. E.g.

Solution Landscape: SAP Europe

Under SAP Europe, we have D00 (Dev), Q00 (QA) and P00 (Prod) systems.

After configuring this, we go to t-code DSWP and there, we can view the 3-systems (3 boxes) which was configured previously, i.e. D00, Q00, P00.

Problem:

In our newly-installed Solution Manager 4.0, we cannot get the 3 boxes (D, Q, P) system to be shown when we go DSWP.

How do we configure in order to get all 3-systems to be displayed?

Or is there a limitation in solman 4.0 that only allows 1 system per landscape?

Many, many thanks in advanced.

Warmest regards,

Eva

Hi Suat,

I probably know the answer to your question.

SAP Solution Manager 3.2 and 4.0 use Logical Components to describe a landscape.

A Solution Landscape has a "leading role". Default is productive. You can see the role in:

Operations Setup: Solution Landscape -> Solution Landscape Maintenance, tab "System Group", field "Leading Role of the Solution".

By default, only those systems are added to the solution, which fit to the "leading role". In your case probably "Productive" systems. System which are part of the solution are marked with a "green" background.

You can add further systems (having other roles as Dev, QA) of the logical components as follow. Put cursor into the field with system id, choose in the context menu "Put in Solution" or choose button "System". Afterwards the cell gets a green background, the system is now part of the Solution Landscape. EarlyWatch Alert is activated automatically, setup of System Monitoring is now also possible.

Hello again, everyone! 😃

Actually, now I'm stuck with another problem.

In SMSY, I have created a few landscapes which is no longer in use. Somehow, I only can find button to 'Create' but not to 'Delete'.

Is there anyway I can delete those unwanted landscapes?

Many, many thanks in advanced!

On a side note:

My name is actually Suat Fern. Chan is my surname/family name. But, would best prefer to be call Eva.

Cheers,

Eva

Hi Eva,

ideally, you close this thread and open a new thread focussing on the next problem.

Have you created the Landscapes within SMSY or DSWP?

Solution Landscape in DSWP can be "Send to Archive", which deactivates the landscape.

Best regards

Ruediger

Whoops... So sorry. 😛

Okie, I've created a new thread for the new problem under "SolMan 4.0: SMSY: Delete unwanted landscape from Solution Landscapes".

Cheers,

Eva

Hi Chan,

There is no such restriction in SolMan 4.0. We can see all the 3 boxes of D, Q, P systems of ur landscape in system monitoring tabs etc. May be u can see it in the navigation pane by clicking systems; which gives all the related systems in the landscape. BTW they are created in SMSY ..right..

Hope this input is helpful.
