I would suggest you to concentrate more on Oracle front.Basics of Oracle and few concepts about O/s will always help for a Basis admin.

Before the hands on you learn the Basic architecture of SAP from help.sap.com.

You can get the hands on experience from the preview software.

I would recommend getting an entry level position at a company already running SAP that may be upgrading shortly.

Knowledge of Oracle (or other DBs) and Unix (Or windows server) would be advantageous.

Also, I would not recommend learning from home, but to go on the SAP Education courses. The cost alot of money, but are recognised the world over.

I have now completed four Basis courses and the hands on experience is much more valuable in an instructor led course as he can answer questions as you go. Learning from home is no substitute for real life expereince.

Hi,

I would suggest training and hands-on experience. Training just makes you a novice in my opinion, hands-on experience makes you an expert - there is no substitute.

You can find the training at http://www.sap.com/education

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Pradeep,

Yes, you can download the SAP preview software and tools and install it, there is lots of information and manuals to guide you through the process, you can download SAP Netweaver Java and ABAP from the download section here on the sdn.

Hope this help!
