Hi Amit

SM13 useed to check critical updates(active-inactive status in sap system

if database update fails basis admin has to check, via this code & analyise the issue, then

according to procedure, need to apply sap notes(if required, say SM13 is vital t-code to analise the issue for database errors

SM13 : (Update Requests overview)

This transaction is useful to figure the status of update system. Incase an update is inactive we can figure out the same from this transaction and necessary action can be taken and update can be activated again.

We can check the updates in sm13 . This will be used frequently by

admins to have a look at the processing of V1/V2 updates.

Usually V1 is more critical than V2. If you see any errors,

then it is possible to rectify and

re-update the same in SM13.

Update management supports the following functions:

Selecting and Displaying Updates

Analyzing Cancelled Updates

Reorganize update records

Configuring Update Groups

Display and reset update statistics

Display update server

The update management initial screen (transaction SM13) can be seen below

Display update requests

Analyze problems pertaining to the update

Test and debug canceled update requests

Display and reset the status of update requests (see The Most Important Update Statuses)

Delete update requests

Display statistics on updates

SM13 transaction code is basically used to monitor the update statistics. In this t code you can find out if any uncommited updates are there for a particular user.

You can check critical updates and non critical updates here. And also you can specify the date and time when there is an update error happened in your system.

In netweaver system, Shift +F5 will lead you to the administration of the update system.

Dear Amit,

The Help Portal sections such as 'Update Management' found at the following URL go into detail about uses of transaction SM13:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e5/de870535cd11d3acb00000e83539c3/frameset.htm

This should help you investigate how this transaction is used for Basis Administration of SAP updates.
