Dear all
We're on SAP Netweaver2004s, having following issue:
The Profile Files (Default/Start/Instance) have been deleted and recreated with other names in RZ10. Saving and activating was fine, but after restart of the server, the instance is no longer showing up in the mmc, it seems that the profile files are not assigned properly.
Where can I check and change which profile is used for the start of the mmc?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Silvio
Hello!
This may not be very helpful for solving your start issues but nonetheless: Why did you change the names of the profiles? This is likely to create major problems whenever trying to use SAP Upgrade or installation tools in the future. If possible try to stick with the SAP standard profile naming.
Regards,
Jörg

Hi,
I encountered the exact same error in dev_disp after a parameter change in RZ10, and the subsequent instance restart.
The cause was that the following parameters were missing in the instance profile:
DIR_CT_RUN = $(DIR_EXE_ROOT)\$(OS_UNICODE)\NTI386
DIR_EXECUTABLE = $(DIR_INSTANCE)\exe
DIR_CLIENT_ORAHOME = $(DIR_EXECUTABLE)
D.

Hi silvio,
It is not the problem with profiles please check whether your old versions of MMC's are available by searching at O/s level for the file " SAP MMC" activate the oldversion of MMC.
Cheers
Shyam.

hi shyam
thank you for your reply.
i copied some old profiles into the profile folder, booted the server and started the mmc again. I was able to start all the instances with the old profile.
In TA RZ10 I was able to edit all the profiles, save and activate them. Although the check did not show some errors, I can not restart the instance with this newly safed profile, even if I did not change any profile parameter.
