SAP EP6.0 on SAP WAS 6.40 on SUN, Solaris

Hi,

We are planning to install the NW04 EP 6.0 on SAP WAS 6.40 on SUN, unix Solaris and the systems team wants to install Solaris 10 (to investigate Solaris 10's vitualization capabilities) on the DEV box but according to the PAM, only Solaris 9 is supported. Does SAP support Solaris 10 - 64 bit?

Is anyone running EP6.0 on SAP WAS 6.40 on SUN Solaris 10?

Hi Neeta,

If it is not on the PAM than it is not supported by SAP. That means that if you open up a customer message for an unsupported platform, you are very likely not going to get support. But do check the PAM regularly because it does change.

With that said, if you want to try it to on a sandbox or dev system with solaris 10, give it a shot as long as you are just testing with it. One problem that I see is that SAPInst may detect the OS level and not let you continue.
