Difference between NetWeaver Downloads

Former Member

hi,

actually i would make some steps and try out the SAP netweaver platform. i'm not a java developer, so i would prefer to program in ABAP or with .NET.

on the download-page (SDN.SAP.COM) five pre-configured netweaver "versions" are offered... is the last one (called Full ABAP Edition-Trial) the best for my requirements?

when scrolling down on this page, it seems that many of the other parts (for example: application server, development infrastructure, web dynpro, developer studio, visual composer...) are not included in the ABAP-version. is that right? are these parts only working with java? do i need java-programming experience to be able to work with these parts?

is it possible to work with ABAP and(!) the other parts? how can install this combination (Java & ABAP)?

i would like to download/install the version with the most possibilities...

thank you in advance for your help!

you can install ABAP and SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version to gether and connect the ABAP to the java environment to do java webdynpro, portal, vc, etc.

installing these two would cover all.
