Serial Number

Hi

When i am doing Goods Receipt wrt Purchase order,For a line item we have maintained serial number profile

In the item details screen and in the Serial number tab view there is a check Box called Create Serial number Automatically(which the system will assign the serial number internally).

Our requirment is to Greyout/display the check box create serial number automatically

Can anybody give solution to this ,Immediate solution will be appreciated

Hi Guruprasad,

Unfortunately, there is not any customizing setting in the standard system which would allow you to hide this indicator.

The only option available would consist on modifying the screen SAPLMIGO 360 and the field GOITEM-XSAUT.

Additionally, you can de-flag the field from the default screen so that the default value is always empty: In MIGO follow the menu path 'Settings' -> 'Default values' and in the pop-up window de-select the option to 'Create Serial Numbers Automatically'.

The solution which you have provided is very usefull,I think we need to modify the screen SAPLMIGO 360

The second option which you have mentioned in the menu path 'Settings' --> 'Default values' and in the pop-up window de-select the option to 'Create Serial Numbers Automatically',I have deselcted the check box Create serial number automatically even though it's appearing in item detail screen of serialnumber tab view

Hi Guruprasda,

Yes, even if you de-select the option to "Create Serial Numbers Automatically" in the default settings of transaction MIGO, the indicator still appears under the "Serial Numbers" tab, but, at least, the value always defaults empty, this is, the user has to flag it on purpose, this way you can instruct your users about never flagging this indicator.

Hi Guru,

use transaction OIS2 , select the profile that you are using and click on serializing procedure.

after doing this , against GR , maintain the SerUsage as 01 i.e.none.

I have checked the way you have proposed,In MIGO item detial screen ,serial number tab view is greyed out

Our requirment is slightly different ,we want too maintain serial number manually but not automatic

in that case, in SerUsage , enter 02 or 03 based on whether you want to make it optional or obligatory.
