BO Ex Index error (Error Message PS50004)

Hi Expert,

I am a fresh man to BO Ex

I found one strange issue during creating BO Ex index

I have one cube: A and it has one BWA index long time ago.

Data volume in this cube is almost 50000000

Now I build BO Ex index for this cube.

The job running for almost 3 hours and finished without error.

But when I create Infopsace in infoview and check result, system shows error message PS50004

Strange thing is that I delete the index both for BWA and BO Ex for this cube then rebuild them, result looks ok

I mean this infospace works correct

Could you kindly let me know whether you face similar isse before?

If yes, what's the root cause

Hi George,

Sorry... I do not catch your key point

In my example, I use same ID to create infospace

The first time, system shows erroe message

But second time, it works

The only differnece is that

In first time, I create BO Ex index directly

In second time, I detele original BWA and rebuild BWA and BO Ex index as well

For this action, I still use same ID

Hi,

hard to say, PS 50004 is a bit of a generic error. What version of BO Enterprise, Explorer and BWA Revision? Do you have an open ticket with SAP?  it may have to go to BWA team. 

You may need to move to the latest BWA revision first and update Explorer to latest patch too, also try to have the SAP User 0BI_ALL authorization to see.

Enable the Indexing Server Logging in CMC and take a look at the log for more info.

But if you rebuilt the BWA index and Information Space then you are ok now?

Yes.

After rebuild BWA index and BO Ex index, it works well not (No need to rebuild InfoSpace)

We found that if activation job executes for a long time, it is high possibility that the result is not correct

Hi Sir,

Could you kindly let me know how to check whether this index is correct or not

Because I run the RSDDTPS in system direclty withou creating any additional action

Then job finished without error but BO Ex index cannot be used

This situation does not occur for all cubes

It is only for cubes which contain larger data

Are you logging into Explorer with a SAP user that has proper authorization as defined under RSDDTPS?

So you are not able to create  an information space on the BWA index?
