Hi Thomas,
I would describe myself as follows:
Bachelor's --> Master's --> Entry Level Job ( 1 year) --> Non-IT job ( 1 year) --> IT (non-SAP) Support Job (2 years) --> Unemployed (8 months) -> SAP Support job (several contracts in 5 years) --> SAP Functional (last 6 years)
regards,
Mr. PPIO,
I'm curious, what SAP support job did you have? Programming? Basis? The transition from technical to functional is somewhat rare, so I'm interested in your story. ![]()
Best regards,

Hi Tom,
I started from 1-2 level support (mostly sd module) but did many other things (abaping as well) and soon covered 2-3 levels support in sap logistics.
Of course, this way looks like an exception...

Hi Tom,
Congratulations for the SCN member of the month recognition.
I am in the process of starting up my SAP BASIS certification.I work in a company that is not running on SAP. I have bought the book SAP Administration- Practical guide by Sebastian Schreckenbach.I have just started reading the book and hope to do my certification exams in a month's time.Am I on the right track? Have a bachelors degree and 4 years in support of hardware, software and databases but virtually zero in SAP support.
Is there any other book you would recommend to a beginner like me? Where can i also find other resource materials?
Thanks
Bonnie.

Thank you Boniface! Rather than respond here, buried deep in a nonrelated thread, I ask you to repost your question as a new discussion. That way you're more likely to get multiple responses and points of view. Thanks again! Best regards, -td
