Ownership/consolidation application

In BPC 7.5 can 2 consolidation application reside in same appset. Both the consolidaiton application has same dimension.

The seperation one has the historical data of past year and another one has new data for current year onwards.

Has someone worked in this kind of situation?

Or it is ideal to keep 2 different appset for 2 different consolidaiton application?

Hi Sridevi,

You can definitely maintain 2 different applications, you don't need 2 different appsets. Just name one of them as the HISTORICAL application. With this, you don't even require any additional dimension.

There is no need of creating two appsets or even two application.

In addition to the existing dimensions, just add one more dimension that will identify the kind of data that will be stored (historical data / current data). Say you add a dimension APPL_IDENTIFY and you maintain two members as HISTORICAL_DATA and CURRENT_DATA and let all other dimensions as it is so that when you load data, it will be stored against either of the two dimensions members. That way you will be able to distinguish between the kind of data.

That will serve the purpose I believe.
