Employee Assignment in Territory Managment

Hi,

Can we assign employee in Territory Management without assgning position in Org Management in CRM 7.0.?

in Employee assignment block there is "Main postion in Territory" and "Default Territoy"

can you please explain the use of Default Territoy

Hi Amish,

You cannot assign an employee to a territory without using position. Assignment can be done only through position. The ideal way is to maintain one employee per position though it is not restricted.

And regarding default territory, if you have maintained default territory as true, then the corresponding territory will be taken as default in the Business transactional documents(1Order, Marketing) where this employee is the employee responsible. The default territory is maintained at the position level.
