MB21/MB22/MIGO - change account assignment (GL ACCOUNT)

HI,

Sometimes users make mistakes and use the wrong GL account when creating reservation in MB21. Once the reservation is saved, it is impossible to change the GL account field content in MB22.

Is it possible to configure this field so it can be changed ? I looked at screen layouts in IMG but it does not seem possible.

Is it possible to configure SAP to that the GL account field is changeable for the good issue (MIGO)?

Thanks.

Julien

Julien,

In reservation, once it is saved you can't change GL account. But in MIGO, you can customize to give the GL account manually if need be.

Hi Mathew,

If you take a look at the screenshot in attachment, you'll see that the GL account field is greyed-out, even in change mode.

I looked in IMG but did not find the correct place to make it changeable.

Hi,

ABOUT MB22:

I'm sorry to tell you that the system is designed this way. The fields
you are questioning are contained in the header data and once you move
to the detail screens, there is no way to modify these fields.

There are some restrictions on changing a reservation, as follows:
· You cannot change the account assignment data(for example cost center
  order and so on). If the account assignment is incorrect, you must
  delete the reservation and create a new one.
· You cannot change the material number or the plant for an item.
  If either of these entries is incorrect, you must delete the item and
  enter a new one."

Please refer to SAP Library by the following way:

Material Management   > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory->
reservation -> changing a Reservation

Please read under constraints
You cannot change the account assignment data (for example, cost center,
G/L account, order and so on). If the account assignment is incorrect,
you must delete the reservation and enter a new reservation.

Please copy the reservation to a new reservaton and modify it as a
work around.

ABOUT MIGO :

Unfortunaltely, the G/L account cannot be changed at the time of Goods
Movement posting. It is either determined according to the setting
in tcode OBYC or from the Reservation.

If a movement is carried out with reference to a reservation, then the
G/L account defaults from either the reservation or from the settings
in transaction OBYC (if no G/L account exists in the reservation).
This G/L account cannot then be changed when performing the goods issue.

I understand that you would like to be able to change the G/L account
in a goods movement document. Unfortunately, because the system is
designed to fuction as I described above, it is not possible.

In standard the account for GI for reservation is always closed,
independently from whether it was created manually or automatically.
The reason to close the field is that the cancel otherwise also has to
be posted with a different account to avoid discrepancies in CO (the
system posts to reservation with a manually defined account but the
cancel will be posted to an automatic determined account - this is
not consistent).
In this case the system works as designed by standard.

Please refer to the online documentation that you can find in the
SAP Library (http://help.sap.com) under the menu path:

Logistics
-> Materials Management (MM)
   -> Inventory Management (MM-IM)
      -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory (MM-IM)
         -> Goods Issue
            -> Goods Issue With Reference to a Reservation

"The account assignment specified in the reservation is automatically
  used in the goods issue items.

  If no account was entered in the reservation, the system determines
  the accounts to which postings are to be made through automatic
  account determination.

  If an account was entered manually in the reservation, the system use
  this account from the reservation as the offsetting entry for the
  inventory posting."
