Problem installing Dashboard Design 2011

Former Member

Hello,

I have a license for Dashboard Design 2011 which was previously installed on my pc and working.  However, my pc had recently been rebuilt and the license was lost.  I've tried to reinstall the programme as before but I recieve the error message below.  Has anybody else experienced this problem, and have a solution?

I'm also concerned that once I have managed to install the program, my license keycode will be invalid.  Does anybody know if there is a certain process to follow, should this be the case, or if it should work anyway?

I have Office 2010 and Windows 7.

Thanks

Hi,

Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by missing runtime components.

Try to reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

If it still throws the same error, try downloading the new patch for Dashboard design, i.e patch 16.

This should solve your issue.

Thanks,

Thanks Nag.

I've downloaded the Runtimes but still get the same error.

Where can I download the patch?

the runtimes need to be installed before the base Xcelsius installation . 'topping up' after wont resolve this, you need to reinstall .

download is in the usual place www.service.sap.com/swdc

business objects portfolio  -> dashboard design

Re-installing the Dashboard Design download seems to have fixed the issue.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, as above - see Note 1676695 - Assertion Failed Exception for shared_ptr.hpp when installing .NET runtimes for Business Objects 4.0

This can happen if you do not have the VS 2005 C++ Runtimes installed.

Download the VS 2005 C++ runtimes (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3387) and install, then run the .NET runtimes installer again.
