Characteristic not assigned to phrase set features phrase check function

Dear all,

can any body help me on the error msg "Characteristic not assigned to phrase set features phrase check function" when iam adding type of damage in incident /accident log creation.I already created phrase and it is assigned phrase set, still iam getting error. the same error was repeating at in control measure/CAPA,while adding protection goal. Please help me regard this.

Hi Ramakrishna,

You are getting this error because you haven't performed the Characteristic & Phrase set assignment properly. Follow the following steps to solve your problem:

1) Hope you have created Phrases and Phrase sets and assigned Phrases to Phrase sets

2) Go to TCode CGAB (Phrase set to Attribute assignment)

3) Select "Tables/ Structure fields" and select "CCIHT_IAL" from drop down list

4) Specify the name of the Phrase set

5) Click on "Match Up Characteristics"

Now, Create incident/ accident log and you will be able to input the "Damage Types"

Hi Rama,

I am not sure, but the error message sounds as if the characteristic is not defined as being phrased. Please check in CT04. On the tab Basic Data it should read "Character format" under "Data Type", and on the tab Values the entry under "Function" ought to be C14K_PHRASECHARACT_CHECK.
