Hello Atul,
Can u please help on the issue I am facing when I am trying to connect from my Android device to BI4.1 mobile?
Below are the details of my Env.
BO Version: SAP BI4.1 SP2
OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga) on VMware 10 guest on Windows 8 host
App Server: Tomcat(using default full installation)
All the modules like CMC, BI etc are working perfectly fine.
When trying to connect from mobile, it is throwing "Connection to the server could not be established; try again or contact administrator(MOB06031)"
Below are the details used in mobile connection:
Name:TestCon
Server URL: http://rajrhel:9090
CMS: rajrhel:6400
User: <username>
Password: <password>
Auth Type: Enterprise
I have added "rajrhel" hostname in /system/etc/hosts file & able to ping the BI4.1 SP2 server from mobile.
Since it is full default installation, I have not changed anything in any of the .war files in webapps folder of tomcat.
Please help & let me know if I am doing something wrong here!!!
I am able to access the http://rajrhel:9090 URL on my android device thru Chrome browser.
Able to see the tomcat homepage(both with hostname & ip address).
Thanks,
Rajesh

androidphone.personalCategory = Mobile
With Iphone and Ipad works fine.
Any help?

Install FP14 on the MOBI server & Restart tomcat. This will resolve the connection issue.
I had the same issue before applying the FP 14.

Looks like you have not copied the MobileBIService.war from C:\Program Files (x86)\Mobile 14\Client to C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomcat6\webapps after applying the FP15. You mentioned that the MANIFEST.MF is still showing 14.0.2.364. After, copying MobileBIService.war from C:\Program Files (x86)\Mobile 14\Client to C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomcat6\webapps, restart the tomcat on the MOBI server. As my environment is on FP14, this is the version in the MANIFEST.MF file
Implementation-Version: 14.0.2.657
Also try using the IP address instead of the host name or server name
Hope this helps. I made it work on both my Samsung Galaxy SII mobile as well as Galaxy tab yesterday .
Regards,
Sandeep
Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for your replay.
I have followed the above steps.My MANIFEST.MF file shows now 14.0.2.687.I have fix pack 15.
still i am not able to connect.The same error persists.
My main problem is the error code MOB06031,it is too generic to find out the exact issue.
Can you guide me the exact steps you have configured for your mobile BI.is it the fix patch 15?or may be any other file we need to configure?
Regards
Kishore
Make sure you edit mobi.properties (present at C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomcat6\webapps\MobileBIService\WEB-INF) to make sure your Android devices are detected. Add the below lines to the the file:
#androidtablet
androidtablet.corporateCategory=Mobile
androidtablet.personalCategory=Mobile
androidtablet.category.mobileDesigned=MobileDesigned
androidtablet.category.secure=Confidential
androidtablet.pagemode=true
androidtablet.outputDataType=convertChartToTable
androidtablet.docTypes=Webi,CrystalReport
#androidphone
androidphone.corporateCategory=Mobile
androidphone.personalCategory=Mobile
androidphone.pagemode=true
androidphone.outputDataType=convertChartToTable
androidphone.docTypes=Webi,CrystalReport
Save and restart tomcat on the MOBI server.
Let me know if it works.

Sandeep
Dear Sandeep Bomidika,
I have the same issue.
I installed BO Edge 3.1 SP5
Client tools 3.1 SP5
BO 3.1 Mobile SP5
I deployed MobiServer.war and MobiBI Service.war
But I couldn't connect through Android tablet device (samsung galaxy tab) with Business Objects Mobile app.
As stated above I have MOB08007 error.
I added your code for androird tablet and phone. But still couldn't connect.
I checked Manifest file, the version is 12.5.0.1190. Don't know why, even I installed latest versions.
I downloaded the latest fix pack for Edge server and BO Mobile, but they didn't installed because my system has latest version than fix packs.
I didn't check with an iPad, but I will soon.
Do you have any ideas how to solve it?
for example how can I get latest MobiServer.war with latest Manifest version.
any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance!
Hi Sandeep,

Please check the version of the MobileBIService.war file.
You can do so by following the steps given below:
1. Go to /Tomcat6/webapps/MobileBIService.war
2. Open the META-INF folder.
3. open the Manifest.mf file using notepad.
You should a number such as 14.0.2.xxx
Please provide the number that you see there.

Is there mobile app in the Android market to connect to BO? I don't think SAP supports Android for now. I know they are planning to develop Android apps for BusinessObjects but it is not out yet so far I know.
What is the android app you are using to connect to BusinessObjects through Android?

I just checked it. You are right. It was released recently on June 6th. I installed it and tried it immediately. It is working fine.
The link should be http://myserver:8080/BOE/BI that's how I tried it.
Thanks Denis.
Hi Zahid,
I have tried with http://myserver:8080/BOE/BI but still has no luck.
Did we need to add some setting in the BI server? We have successfully able to connect from IPAD.
Hence i am not sure what else we require to connect from a android device.
