Funds management Commitments in HCM

Hi:

I have never worked on HCM so have no idea where will the fund management be integrated with it. I have explored PA30 for fund center field but could not find it. Commitment items for all the HCM related expense GL have been created with 30/3 category but how to start budgeting..Are funds commitment created at personnel level ? Please guide how will this work?

Please, read documentation on IMG activity 'Integration with Human Resources (HR)'. You can switch the activation of fund centre by 'Define Start Date for HR Integration (Scenario 2)'. Hi Eli:

Thanks i have done testing of HCM & FM-BCS integration for off cycles and it worked for me..A thing that is bothering me is the understanding from HCM perspective..Since i am doing all of this at my own in a preconfigured system having SD,MM,PP,CO & HCM . The thing is at which level we will budget HCM related expenses, i do not want to budget at personnel level. In PPOME there are Org units defined, a master cost center has been assigned to them. So ideally should i do budgeting department wise in HCM ?

Hi,

Personnel level budgeting would be indeed overreaching. Anyway, you have special SAP application for that, which allows planning on that level. As for FM, the budgeting is always on FM objects: so, if you assign HCM objects to certain fund centre, then also the budget would be checked on the level of this fund centre (with commitment item, of course, but they will technically be derived from expense accounts).
