Could anyone explain on how could I archive the BPC Data Model? Do we use the SAP standard archiving through Data Archiving Process?

Mary,

Normally this is done through the Server manager on the app server and initiated manually. The backup covers data and the environments as well. There have been a few discussions on this forum on backup but here is a link on how to automate the process.

Hope this helps,

As per SAP, when I created OSS message, SAP said that it is via standard archiving process. Anyone had archive via DAP? We are on BPC 10, SP10.

Hi Sagaya,

Archiving in BPC MS generally means taking a backup.

Once you have taken the backup, you have two options:

1. Create a historical environment to maintain the historical for people who want to view them.

2. Delete the data for periods that you may not use on a regular basis from the source model. Say delete data older than 3 years.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sagayah,

For NW there is a standard data manager package /cpmb/archive_data. Please use that.

Hello,

can you help me please,

Yesterday I executed  ARCHIVE_DATA first time. But it's still running (15 hours).

I executed UJ0_GET_GEN_TABNAME and it's shows audit and archive data tables:

AUDDATA: /1CPMB/H0R9KAD

AUDDATA_A: /1CPMB/H0R9KAD_A

I checked table  AUDDATA: /1CPMB/H0R9KAD there is lot of enries (over 20 million, system works 1,5 year.)

Then I checke table AUDDATA_A: /1CPMB/H0R9KAD_A there is no entries.

I suspect that ARCHIVE_DATA doesn't work.

What can you advise me? How to check are working it or not?

thanks...

Hi  Daulet ujurganov,

Did you find any solution to this issue - regarding the zero entries count in Archive data table, even after running the data manager package ??

I am stuck with the same issue. If you have found out the solution please guide me too in resolving the same.

Thanks in Advance..

Hi..

I Checked the task profiles necessary to execute the audit + Archive functionalities. All of them were assigned to the specific user IDs. Still the issue persists.
