Roger Federer won his 7th title equaling the record of Pete Sampras .Though Roger is a better all round player, I still think Pete is better than Roger in Wimbledon.Any other opinion....?
I started following Tennis around the time Borg won the first of his Wimbledon titles. Pete Sampras belongs to a generation of champions that is actually younger than me, as a result, I find myself unable to get excited about them, because as everyone knows, " IN our Generation, Things Were So Much Better". Having said that, certainly Federer seems to fit the bill for an allround all time great. Personally I was rooting for Murray, because he is the next Ivan Lendl - not an all time great, but a gritty performer who will win a lot of titles.
