Live Office ignores WebI's prompts

Hi all,

we are using BOE 4.0 SP2 and built a dashboard which gets its data via a Live Office connection from a WebI report which is based on a BEX query (i.e.no universe). This worked pretty fine until it comes to prompts: Regardless if I enter the prompts manually or if I bind them to an Excel cell - when refreshing the connections Live Office seems to ignore these prompts! It always shows the result of the last interactive WebI refresh from Launchpad.

With a WebI based on a classical universe connection I do not have these problems, everything works as expected. And: The problem already arises in the Excel file - we didn't import the Excel file to the Dashboard Design model to check the behaviour there.

Are there any known issues with Live Office and prompts in WebIs based on BEX queries?!?

Hello Henry & thanks for your quick answer!

We already "accepted" that we do not see the BEX query prompts/filters in Live Office (btw: of course we vote for the corresponding implementation wish in idea place! ;-)).

Therefor we added two additional user prompts in WebI which had the effect that we see these two prompts in the Live Office properties. We can specify the refreshment option (interactive, bind to Excel cell) as usual but when refreshing the values for these two parameters are ignored!

When refreshing the WebI in Launchpad all parameters/prompts (defined in BEX & defined in WebI) work as expected.

So, perhaps the limitation you mentioned is even a little big bigger...

Hello Henry again,

I just walked through the comments of https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/4094 and found your comment from Feb 27, 2012 11:54 AM regarding FP03. You said in FP03 it will be possible to "use WebI Prompts with BICS documents in LO".

Is this a NEW feature in FP03 (this would explain our behaviour!) or should this feature already be available in SP2?!?

It was some time back, but i think that stands true.  (for prompt defined in the webi query panel,  not  sap variable coming from bex)

You don't mention what Patch ontop of SP02 you are using.   Patch2.19 came out 2 weeks ago .

However, we are trying to encourage customer to 'reset' on SP04 (Patch4.1 is available there now)

Anything lower than 2.10 could be quite problematic (buggy)

We are using Patch 2.18 (14.0.2.760), an update to (most probbaly) SP04 is planned...

But again, I didn't get your point: Does LiveOfffice support prompts defined in WebI query panel only since FP03? So, is this a NEW feature in FP03?
