User's email address and full name in CMC

Hi All,

We are using BO XI 3.1 Sp4 in our environment which is connected to a BW system and is enable for SAP authentication.

Now to perform license management activity within BO, we have to generate a report showing all the users who have logged into to BO with their id, full name, email address , creation date , last login date.

But, the problem is with SAP users as we don't create them  and they get created automatically the very first time  they login into the BO server. If we check the property of such a user , we see "email" and "full name" fields empty and the option "" is also greyed out or disabled for them.

Is there a way to get "email" and "full name" from underlying BW system into CMC or we will have to manually maintain that ?

Also note that we have not checked option "auto import users" in our system as we only want to have users in the system who wish to access the BO system not all who have been assigned to the role which we imported to BO.

Thanks in advance for help,

Chandra

Hi Peter,

thanks for the tip, it was exactly my case and after checking this option the names and stuff are now in 🙂

Is there anything that we are missing here or with XI 3.1 we'll have to maintain email and name for SAP ids manually from CMC.

Would really appreciate any pointers or help here.

Thanks

Hi Chandra,

By default you dont have options to import this in BO 3.1 and is changed in BI4.Still there is a workaround. Please follow the below steps.

The Import Full Name and Email Address checkbox can be found under:

CMC -> Users and Groups -> Choose any SAP User -> Under Properties, there is a checkbox called Import Full Name and Email Address.

The drawback here is that you need to do it for every user.

If you need a bulk update of all the users, Just go for SDK based solution. The same update option is available in BI4 in the CMC Itself. You can refer it here.

Thanks Mani for this suggestion . We already found this option but it is somehow greyed out or disabled for SAP users in our environment may be because we are not opting for "automatically import users" in Authentication section.

We still have this option disabled to import user's name and email address from BW system. Find the attached screenshot.

Please suggest if there is any workaround to have these fields(full name and email address) populated directly from BW system else we would have to update them for all 1000 users one by one and that doesn't look good.

Thanks,

Chandra

Hi Chandra,

you need to enable this feature on the SAP Authentication level first. Not sure how it is on old XI3.1 version but on 4.x you need to navigate to CMC > Authentication > SAP and there choose Options Tab and enable option

After this step you will be able to see this option available under properties of SAP users.
