Data reaching BUT000 & LFA1 but NOT to LFB1 & LFM1 tables

Former Member

Hi All,

We are working on Supplier MDG scenario and using standard data model 'BP' and all the standard UI & its related configurations as provided by SAP.

The MDG & ECC 6 system are residing on the same system.

After WF completion & successful data replication to base ECC system, we are able to see data reaching BUT000 & LFA1 tables but we are NOT seeing data reaching the LFB1 & LFM1 tables.

Appreciate your valuable suggestions in trouble shooting this matter.

Thanks & regards,

Vinayak Kale

Hi Vinayak:

I'm facing the same problem with the LFB1 and LFM1 tables. How do you solve this?

Hi Vinayak,

We faced the same issue. Please set BP Role Category for Direction BP to Vendor. Please go through configuring CVI integration part where setting the roles is explained in the below link

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-24654.

Also please check the roles and authorizations to LFB1 and LFA1. When creating a new supplier, please fill the company code and purchase organization data with a role. Also Check whether you have assigned agents to approve the data for LFA1 and LFB1 data.

Hi Goutham Thanks for your reply in this reference, appreciate! The configuration for CVI integration has alredy been followed as per the link specified. Thanks for providing the link though. We are being able to update data to BUT000 & LFA1 tables, but NOT able to update data to LFB1 & LFM1 active tables. The user-id has all the authorization (except the Basis role), so just hoping that the roles and authorizations should not be an issue here. While creating a vendor, we are entering much of the CoCode/PurOrg related data along with the role (CVI: FI Vendor). Also the agent (US-user) assignment (Demo system - same user creates & approves) is done appropriately and we are able to see the workflow completetion successfully. I am personally debugging the ABAP for t-code 'SWO1' since last 2 weeks but its being an Object Oriented programming, hard to find what I am doing wrong here. Can you please help a bit further since we are near completion of our demo and only this item is troubling us a lot. Very much appreciate your help in this matter. Thanks a lot! Best regards, Vinayak

Dear Vinayak,

'FI vendor' role only enters the data in BUT000 and LFA1. Try with other roles ( try 'Vendor').

Hi Goutham,

Thanks for the suggestion. Even I was having similar thought on this point so today I have tried as much combination as possible but it hasn't helped much.

Below are some of the options that I used today as a part of the permutation combination in this reference.

Business Partner GroupingRolesAccount Group
External Number AssignmentCVI: FI VendorGoods Supplier
Internal Number AssignmentContract PartnerOne-time Vend. (int.no.assgnmt)
SRMInsurance Tracking VendorOne-time Venders
Synchron. BP w VendorLandlord w. Vendor AccountSpecial Vendor
Manager w. Vendor AccountSuppliers (training)
Partner w. Vendor AccountVendors
PlantVendors Training
Purchasing Firm
Vendor

In some cases, it just updated the table BUT000 and in other cases it also updated the table LFA1 along with BUT000. But as of now, I could not update the LFB1 & LFM1 tables even though all the supplier created were having significant test data in Company Code & Purchasing Organizations tabs.

Just a question - Ref: MDGIMG under Process Modeling -> Workflow -> Configure Workflow Task. When we click 'Activate event linking' under 'CA-MDG-APP-SUP', we see only the event 'LFA1 CREATED Activated' under the WS54600005. Should we also see similar links here for LFB1 / LFM1? Is this possible? We tried to do this as well but it does not appear a feasible option.

I feel like, some other customization is missing which is resulting in no updates to LFB1 / LFM1 tables. Can you please let me know if any other thoughts that may come to your mind that shall be helpful in resolving this issue.

Since you have already done good amount of work in this domain, am just hopeful of getting some valuable suggestion to crack this tough nut. Please let me know if any further points so as to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your help in this reference.

Best regards,

Hi Vinayak

In case of Addon deployement (ECC and MDG on same server) for MDG-BP replication is done automatically through acess class and no need for any ALE/SOA setting.

Can you see any log in SLG1? Did you see same vendor which appears in LFA1?

Hi Vinayak,

it's hardly possible to analyze the issue w/o having access to the system. Maybe you should contact SAP directly via OSS.

Regarding the issue description it is not clear in which system you actually miss the data? Is it stored correctly in the MDG hub and not transferred correctly to the base ECC? Or is the data not stored at all in MDG hub? How do you send the data from MDG to base ECC? Via service or ALE? Did you already check if the data is in the message (e.g. via SXMB_MONI for service or WE02 for ALE)?

Best regards

Hi Michael !

Thanks much for the reply. Would like to clarify the queries in the below email.

Knowing the constraint that such issue can not be resolved without actual access to the system, appreciate some hints that would help resolve this issue based on the prior experience in this domain.

The system is MDG EhP5 ECC6 system. MDG & ECC both are on the same system. The complete vendor master data appears correctly in the staging tables as expected. We are trying to replicate the master data into the base ECC6 system and hence would be happy to see the data in the base ECC6 Vendor (BUT000, LFA1, LFB1, LFM1) tables. The master data replication is happening but its only getting partially replicated to the base ECC system i.e. we are able to see the vendor master data in tables BUT000 & LFA1 but not in LFB1 & LFM1.

SAP-PI / idocs are not being used for the replication since its just being replicated to the base ECC system (though via ALE) itself. All the SAP standard workflows are been used as specified in the below link:-
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/70/47f6938f70420f801be80a0df9fc30/frameset.htm.

Thanks again for the reply.

best regards,
Vinayak

Hi Vinayak,

OK, thanks for adding further information. According to your system description, this is how it should work:

  1. You maintain a supplier having general (BUT000 & LFA1) and company code (LFB1) as well as purchasing org (LFM1) data.
  2. You push Submit. The data is stored in the staging tables. Note: data distribution does not use data being stored in staging - it must be stored in the active area!
  3. You push Approve. This moves the data from the staging area into active area on the MDG server. This means that your staging tables should be cleared and you should be able to see the data in the above mentioned tables on your MDG server!
  4. If the workflow is configurred accordingly, data distribution to the base ECC system is triggered automatically - or you start the distribution manually. In your case this should create an ALE IDoc that is sent directly to the base ECC system. If MDG is setup correctly, this should be both an address IDoc (ADRMAS) and vendor IDoc (CREMAS). Note: you do not need SAP PI for sending IDocs from one system to another. Direct connection is possible and usually used by MDG. Still the transport mechanism of the data is an IDoc!
  5. In base ECC the incoming IDoc is processed. This stores the data in the Vendor tables (LFA1, LFB1, LFM1) and in the address tables (ADRC). You shouldn't get an entry in BUT000.

Now you can compare the standard process with your one. Check the setup of your MDG system. Check how the data flow is currently working in your system. Check where the data is lost. e.g:

  • does saving the data in staging work correctly (item 2.)
  • does activating the data move it to the active area on the MDG server (item 3.)
  • can you see all data segments in the IDoc being sent from the MDG server to the base ECC (item 4)
  • ...

Try to identify the place where the data gets lost. Then we could try to find out why it's happening.

Best regards

Michael
