How does that method send mails?
Are mails sent to SBWP or to the external email (e.g. Outlook)?
It could be a Z table that isn't properly updated, but I'm just guessing.

I have taken zcopy of the business object bus2012 and created my own method send_reminder in that i have used the FM -SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send a mail

Where is that method called? I assume in your workflow. Look in the workflow log to see why it's still being executed. Maybe it's a loop that doesn't get terminated.

You are saying Remainder mail is getting triggered but not seen in SOST. How can you say that ?
If recipient is determined successfully ? Please check workflow log how it is working.

For Mails not in SOST :
Please go to SOST and click the check box Transmitted & then Refresh & you can see external mails which are not sent due to SCOT/SMTP configurations missing.
For Mails not in Workflow Log :Check If in Activity step ->Details ->Workflow Log->Graphical Representation -I guess you have mentioned -Only in Technical Workflow Log instead of All Workflow Logs
