Print Labels with Zebra printer using Adobe or Smartforms

Dear Experts,

We need to get rid of designing labels in loftware label designer and import them into SAP. Our SAP team suggested to find if we can directly create label in smart form or adobe form and print directly on Zebra printer.

Any ideas if this is possible without using Loftware software or other label design softwares? Basically our motto is to get rid of 3rd party stuff and use SAP tools as much as possible.

Please guide the steps to follow if anyone has designed labels in smart forms and print directly on Zebra printer.

Thanks,

RJ.

Hi,

there exist two solutions for Smart Forms: one legacy ZPL2 printer driver by SAP with corresponding device types, see SAP note 750002/750772.

This driver has limitations, for example, landscape mode (rotated label) is not supported.

And there is a newer, ABAP-based driver by Zebra Company (which customer must install separately) which supports e.g. rotation, see note 1173046.

Adobe Interactive Forms does come with a Zebra driver as well. If you define your output device for Adobe Forms with one of the LZEBxxx device types, it should generate Zebra printer language as output.

Best regards,
