New Solution Manager 7.11 Trusted RFC connection failing for remote logons

I have an existing Solution Manager 7.0 instance called SOP that has a trusted connection to a remote CRM instance called CQ1.  I am in the process

of building a new Solution Manager 7.1 called SMR and connecting Managed systems.  After I completed the connection setup in SOLMAN_SETUP RFC's show green but when I test the remote logon for the trusted connection to CQ1 it's failing with a RC=1.  My user ID has access to object s_rfcacl on CQ1 or I would not be able to connect from SOP to CQ1.  I have deleted the trusted connections on both SMR and CQ1 sides an re-created them through solman_setup but still the same issue.  What could I be missing?

Hello James

Be careful with the SOLMAN_SETUP wizard as it can be misleading.

When generating the RFC destinations, the light on top can turn green but that doesn't mean you don't have errors. Confusing? Yes it surely is.

You have to check down low for the detailled logging to see if anything failed, so please scroll down and check the detailed logging and get back to us.

Best regards

if the log stated something issue with Gateway or TCP/IP, please make sure your etc/services file of solution manager updated with the managed system host and messsage server.

Please check

Hi,

Recreate the trusted RFCs, check the required authorizations on the managed system.

Try a remote logon test.

Goto tcode ST22 in the managed system and check the error dump which is obtained upon failed connection. Check the section where error return codes are mentioned - these could help rectify the issue.
