Error cancelling a Production Order

SBO Version: 8.8 PL20

Forum,

I have a user who is trying to cancel a production order by right clicking and selecting 'Cancel' however when trying this they receive the following message:

Action is valid for planned or released production orders with no transactions [Production Order - Product No.] [Message 3702-18]

The Production Order's status is - Released.

Anyone any suggestions?

Hi Orla........

Cancelling a Production Order is only valid when No Issue or Receipt from Production is done.....

Please be sure that these activities are not done........

Hi Orla,

Check does the production order has any Issue components by right click the Production order..

or Check with this query  enter the Production order number and check does they have any documents if you have

select * from IGE1 t1 where t1.BaseRef=''

If you have the Issue then you required to Close the production order cancel is not possible...

Thank you both for your responses. I have noticed that a component on the Production Order has been issued. As we need to cancel this production order how best can I achieve this if one of the components has been issued?

Hi Orla ,

The system behavior for the production order only able to cancel if you dont  have any Receipt from production .

Try to Use Return Components In the goods receipt from production, and try with cancel  production order.If you already posted receipt then you try to close the Production Order  is the only way..

Hi Orla.......

Only if Issue For Production is done and not receipt then you can still take it back and cancel it.

Simply go to Receipt from Production and instead of taking Parent Item click on Return Components and then try to cancel it.......

What about if the item which has been issued is marked as 'Backflush'? I notice this will only work for those which are 'Mannual'.

It means you have made Receipt from production and such Production Orders Can not be cancelled. You have to close it.

I would suggest you to make Stock Reconciliation to make the inventory Stock Matched and if possible do Inventory Revaluation too to take the transactions with correct costing effect ahead.

Hi Orla,

You can manually cancel the production order. You cancel the production order in status Planned or Released only. The cancelled production order is removed from the list.

But if you have Issue document it is will Pop up Message for that case you required to close the Production Order
