Hi,

I have completed an upgrade of a sandbox ECC 6.0 system from EhP4 to EhP6 and in one of the final steps in the Preprocessing phase, I was asked to perform the following manual action:

"We strongly recommend to solve the below problems before you resume the production operation of your SAP system.

For more information, see log file '/sap/D12/SUM/abap/log/LONGPOST.LOG'. You can use the message class and the message number to search relevant SAP Notes on SAP Service Marketplace (for example, search for 'TG123').

I have some questions regarding some the entries in the log and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience resolving them.

Per SAP Note 1341975, I can ignore this message if I was upgrading to EhP5. However for EhP6, I can only ignore some of the messages (See SAP Note 1751217). What should I do here?

Hello Douglas,

regarding the ACT_UPG error, you can safely ignore it for EhP6 also, the same was as for EhP5.

Regarding the errors in XPRAS phase, the problem is, that some infoobjects of the BW technical content are inactive. If this is not a BW system, then the RSA1 has been started most probably sometime, which triggered the activation and check for those characteristics.

Please run the transaction RSTCO_ADMIN and use the "start installation" button to start the activation of those objects. Please note that the system must be changeable at this time.

In case the objects are still inactive, please use the report RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE for the following characteristics:

0H_CHILDID

0H_NEXTID

0H_NODEID

0INFOPROV

0TCTMDXFC

0TCTMDXRT

Additionally please implement the note 1629923 and  1724314 and set the mentioned RSADMIN parameter  to prevent the technical content installation during future upgrades.

If the objects are active, then no further activities will be needed.

Thanks Tomas. The customer has informed us that the ECC system is not being used for BW. We are ignoring the warnings then.

We are on a very new version of BW (7.31 SP 5). We had this dump "ASSERTION_FAILED"

Terminated Program "CL_RSSH_DTP_PROXY============CP" when we try to create a transformation of a hierarchy (on new 7.x flow). We tried a lot of notes without success.

We solved installing the technical Infoobjects of BI Content that you listed.

Hello Douglas and community members,

I have a similar situation with CRM Production Upgrade. I used the tcode RSTCO_ADMIN , before starting the installation status was red and then changed to yellow. When displaying the log for today I see many error entries.

All the other users are still locked as the part of Upgrade activity, am i right to perform these actions at this point of time only??

Hi Douglas,

At this moment you can login to the system Please login to the system and run the report COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE from SE38.System will ask for a transport request - create one.

This is a common error in XPRAS phase.

After this report continue with the upgrade

Forgot to mention the OSS note : Note 826092 - Add. info. on upgrading to SAP ERP Central Component 6.0

In the upgrade guides for ramp-up, the following follow-up activity is missing:

As of SAP netWeaver 2004s, several conversion reports needed for the product master are bundled into a single report, COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE.

If the upgrade log LONGPOST.LOG (displayed in phase CHK_POSTUP) requests you to execute the upgrade report COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE, after the upgrade, call transaction SE38 and execute the report. A transport request is created which you need to transport in all subsequent systems. After the import of the transport request, you must run report COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE in the respective subsequent systems.
