Former Member

Hi All,

I want to installed SAP JVM 4.24 (using JVM switch) on one of my portal system which is in cluster environment.

OS - Solaris 10
DB - Oracle 11g

Cluster architecture:

DB on virtual Host:sapora-ep (Hostname-eppzone)
SCS services on Virtual Host: sapci-ep (Hostname-sapepprod1)
Dialog Instance on Virtual Host: sapci-ep1 (Hostname-sapepprod1)

I need to know below.

1) Shall i install sap jvm 4 only on SCS ?

2) Shall i install sap jvm 4 on dialog instance 1?

3) OR shall i need to install sap jvm on both sap instances SCS, Dialog instance?

4) shall i consider DB also for jvm4 installation. (I don't think it will require)

Please reply

Thanks

Hi Rajat,

You need to install sapjvm only in host sapci-ep.

Hi Pankaj,

Our DI is on another hostname sapepprod2.

OS - Solaris 10
DB - Oracle 11g

Cluster architecture:

DB on virtual Host:sapora-ep (Hostname-eppzone)
SCS services on Virtual Host: sapci-ep (Hostname-sapepprod1)
Dialog Instance on Virtual Host: sapci-ep1 (Hostname-sapepprod2) (DI is on different host)

Are you sure we need to install JVM in CI only. Please let me know your view and why.

Thanks

Can you please give your suggestion?

Hi Rajat,

Its better that you install in all the instances even though the JVM directory that will be in use is determined by the Java_home parameter.

Cheers!!

Hi Hector,

Thanks for your reply.

Shall I consider DB instance as well?

Hi Rajat,

On DB Instance it is not required. SAP JVM installation folder is within exe directory. So there is no requirement for installing SAP JVM on DB Instance.
