SAP HANA certification at india location

Hello Team,

  I want to take up SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP HANA 1.0 certification , but on the SAP certification website, i am not able to find venue,dates and fees for India. https://training.sap.com/in/en/certification/c_hanaimp_1-sap-certified-application-associate-sap-han...

Also wanted to know if training is compulsory before giving certification or not, do we have option to opt only for certification exam.

Kindly help on above mentioned points...

can someone from SAP confirm this, i have already dropped mail to education-sap email address.. no response yet, and i cant find any guidelines on sap/scn as to how to give certification without HANA training, relevant work ex needed, if any(not sure since itself is ~1.5yr old). Can we give test via pearson vue test center anywhere in india and current employer recommendation.

Hi,

I feel there is a strict need of finding better ways for getting information about HANA certifications in India. Sending emails to some team, and waiting for reply is often time-taking it seems (although I got response within 13 minutes of my post, for which i am really happy. But still it seems many others are facing problems).

Is it not possible for SAP India team to do a small write-up about the SAP HANA certifications, including pre-requisites for training and exams, test center locations, cost and links to relevant information??

Hey Mageshwari,

These links provides most of the information that people (including me) were looking for.

These links don't appear in the google search list when searching using relavant keywords (i tried various combinations of phrase 'SAP HANA certification centers in India'). May be my ignorance about using proper search keywords.

Also, on reading this thread from top, it seems as if this information was provided only via emails to the interested people. So everyone had started posting their IDs. Surprisingly, these links have appeared in this post also after a long long discussion.

Criteria:

To appear for certification without attending any SAP course you need to fulfill the following criteria:

1. To appear for Associate level certification on SAP HANA without attending any prior training you need minimum 1year of work experience in the module and version HANA 1.0.

2. The last 1 year should be with your present employer

3. Your present employer should be a CUSTOMER or PARTNER of SAP

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for such valuable information. Currently I am working in SAP Security. just 4 months old in SAP Security. Currently there are very less vacancies / job opportunities in HANA in India due to its expensive technology and less HANA experts. Moreover most of projects want to stick to/continue with Oracle/MS SQL.as HANA is new and bit expensive database.

Can you suggest me what should I do? be with security or look forward to HANA

Hey Nitin,

As per my understanding so far, the key power of SAP HANA is its in-memory concept (along with several other new things like column-store format etc.), which has revolutionized the basic architecture of storing and processing data. Almost all major giants are now exploring and implementing this concept into its products, be it Oracle or SQL Server.

So if you really want to learn something new, and if you have a developer/tester appetite, focus on the basic concepts rather than a specific technology/product, that would be more helpful in long run. Sooner or later, people having understanding of in-memory concepts would be given priority over learning a single product. It would be the application code's responsibility to harness full benefits of in-memory concepts.

Its same as focusing on OOP concepts over giving preference to any language (C++, Java).

Specific Tip for Jobs in India: Next five years down the line, i expect more cheaper devices with larger capacity, which would make this technology an easy pick for companies. So having HANA in your profile in some form or other would definitely play a good part. (It is always good to say that you have X years of experience in JAVA, and at same time you also know C++ since basic concepts are same there also )

Hey Mageshwari,

I guess we should be looking forward to increase the searchability of these webpages (carrying information about SAP HANA certification + India location). I also faced similar problem a while ago, and it seems that the pages are not getting up in the search results for most of the users (as visible in so many above queries).

We should include more keywords or other such mechanism, by which the relevant pages would appear in the Google search results.

Hi All,

I'm preparing for SAP HANA certificate. Is it possible to write directly without attending SAP training?

I've contacted sap India(Mageshwari). They are telling to appear SAP certification S. SAP traning or Sap hana experience is mandatory. But these prerequisites are not mentioned anywhere in SAP official website .

Any idea why these restrictions are only in India ?

I've gone through the above website.  In the SAP website it’s mentioned that “SAP recommends combining education courses and hands-on experience to prepare for your certification exam" - SAP have not mentioned that it’s mandatory.

Regarding exam preparation. Few of my friends (outside India) have cleared SAP HANA Certification without attending SAP training.  I can get help from them.

Also there are lots of SAP HANA documents available in SAP website / SAP community.

Sorry for replying here.  Most of the times I've not recd (or very delayed ) reply from SAP India.

Hi Everyone.

I am thinking about taking the Hana certification but  I would like to know which manuals I have to study in order to assure a good grade in the exam. I already found the roadmaps but it is not clear for me which of all of the manuals mentioned there are useful for the exam.

HA100 and HA300 are the only ones I am sure that I have to study, but what about the other ones?

also can anyone throw some light whether we can give exam directly at any of pearson vue testing centre(which i guess is SAP offical testing partner) which spread across india or we have to come to B'lore only just to give exam as mentioned by Ravinder

Its posible but case is ...if that centre is conducting certification,normally SAP conduct exams where more number of candidates register for exam(Say Batch of 15 to 20 candidates).

Check with centre directly.

I am not sure which place you belongs to,but in bangalore public batches are available,u need to contact sap dexlur bangalore and regarding price details

Der are two Courses available:-

HA100-SAP HANA INTRODUCTION

This is two days course and price for two days will be Rs 41250(12.36% service tax applicable)

HA300-SAP HANA - Implementation and Modeling

This is three days course and price for three days will be Rs 61875(12.36% service tax applicable)

& Certification will cost you approx Rs 35000

Laksh.....i am not sure if you can take the exam directly,please check with SAP dexlur ,if u search in google you will get the contact details of SAP dexlur bangalore,they can answer about exam dates and direct certification.

I guess u need to enroll for course also,please double check on this.
