Hi All
Is there a way to conduct Two stage bidding process ? . To elaborate , two stage bidding process is essentially the same as the two envelope bidding , however , the difference is that the technical response is received first and only the short listed suppliers are requested to submit their commercial response. In the current version of SRM , both the technical and commcercial responses are submitted at the same time ( however , they are unlocked at separate date / times )

Hi Snehal
Thanks for your response ....this is very useful . However , the process for an oil and gas customer in MENA region is slightly different ...they request the suppliers to submit the technical and commercial responses at different times . The technical response is submitted first and evaluation is done and later the commercial response is submitted only by the shorlisted. The techical and commercial responses are not submitted by the suppliers / contractors at the same time.
Doesnt look like ONGC is followng same process ?
Please confirm

Hi Imtiaz,
If you activate PPS in SRM then you can execute the process for Prequalification of RFx Respondent.
This business process is used to identify and select qualified suppliers, who
are then allowed to submit responses. Process is as:
-Define prequalification criteria
-Publish prequalification questionnaire
-Receive supplier responses
-Evaluate supplier responses
-Accept or reject RFx response based on prequalification questionnaire
One point to be noted here also, suppliers will submit the technical & commercial price in one step only.
Also note there is a configuration available in SRM which will restrict the commercial opening for the bids which are technically rejected.
Hoping this way you can map the process in SRM for two stage tendering.
Rgds,
Hitesh
